From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Tactile
I steady my Leica as the wind whips through heavy wool peacoats and the synthetic crunch of a child’s Zhu Zhu Pet scurrying across the pavement. Overhead, a billboard for Windows 7 looms over a crowd more focused on their buzzing phones—some chatting on that new WhatsApp service, others probably checking if their sketchy Bitcoin investment actually exists. A man in a polyester tracksuit shouts into his mobile about his Uber ride while "Right Round" blares from a passing sedan, a sensory overload that's honestly a bit TMI for a Sunday morning. I just focus on the texture of the scene, the grit of the city clashing with the high-tech flicker of a world changing faster than my shutter speed.
