From the day
Perspective: The Anxious Local · Sound
The bass from T.I.’s "Whatever You Like" rattles my window from a passing car, but it doesn't drown out the dread of gas hitting over three dollars a gallon while I’m just trying to buy a loaf of bread. I’m staring at the paper, reading how a **Conductor Defends Russia, to Strains of Prokofiev**, and honestly part of me wants to rofl at the drama of it all while the rest of me just shakes with nerves about the bank. Everything is shifting too fast, between the kids begging for that expensive animatronic Wall-E and the constant ping of new apps on these fancy phones. I just want to shut out the noise of the world and lose myself in the theater, but even the classical music feels like a political battlefield today.
