From the day

Perspective: The Teenager · Sound

I’m blasting Katy Perry’s "I Kissed a Girl" through my shitty earbuds, keeping the volume high enough to drown out my parents’ lecture about the state budget. My older brother won’t shut up about how Google’s new Chrome browser and Android are going to change the world, but I’m too busy scrolling the App Store for games and wishing I had an invite to that new Spotify thing I heard about at the skate park. If any of my friends try to give me TMI about their summer flings while I’m trying to watch *The Dark Knight* for the third time, I’ll tell them "you're fired" and walk away. I'm just trying to save enough cash for that robot Wall-E toy before the gas prices go up again and my ride to the mall gets cut off.
