From the day

Perspective: The Anxious Local · Sight

The neon glow of the gas station sign shows $3.27, and I’m sweating through my polo shirt just watching the digits climb. That anthrax scientist just got millions from the government while I’m scrounging for a loaf of bread, but at least I can drown out the dread by streaming Coldplay on this new Spotify platform. The kids are begging for that expensive WALL-E animatronic toy, but I’m more worried about saving up for a phone that can run the App Store or the new Chrome browser. Everything is changing so fast, and even with everyone shouting "Yes We Can" on the news, my wallet feels lighter by the second.
