Rihanna’s "Take a Bow" is blasting so loud through my tinny iPod earbuds that the bass actually rattles my skull, drowning out the screech of the city bus. I’m staring at my graduation cap, totally wondering if this scrap of polyester is even worth the hustle while I dig through my pockets for **$1.37** just to buy a loaf of bread for my mom on the way home. If the cashier tries to be chatty, I’m literally going to tell him "you're fired" because I’m so not in the mood for TMI today. Between the roar of traffic and the neon posters for that new Indiana Jones flick, the world just feels way too loud.
