From the day
Perspective: The Anxious Local · Sound
The bass from "Low" is rattling the trunk of the car next to me at the pump, and I can literally hear my bank account draining as the gas price ticks past $3.27 a gallon. Everything feels so sketchy lately with the costs rising, but then I see the morning paper’s headline about the F.D.A. extending Avastin’s use to breast cancer and I just have to take a breath. Omg, if that news means my aunt finally has a fighting chance, I guess I can handle paying way too much for this loaf of bread. The world feels loud and uncertain today, but that one bit of hope almost drowns out the roar of the Saturday traffic.
