From the day
Perspective: The Anxious Local · Sound
The radio is blaring Flo Rida’s "Low" for the tenth time today, masking the nervous chatter of peeps at the pump grumbling over gas hitting $3.27. Between the screech of winter tires and the digital chime of my new phone, everything feels too fast; they’re saying this Android release and the coming of Chrome will change how we browse, but I’m just worried about the price of bread. I’m trying to ignore the sketchy headlines about the economy while my kid begs for that animatronic Wall-E toy, but honestly, I’d rather just plug into Spotify or the App Store and tune out the world. I just want to disappear into a theater for the new *National Treasure* and forget that my wallet feels lighter every single Sunday.
