From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sound
The heavy bass from "Crank That" pulses out of a passing hatchback, making the sidewalk vibrate while I adjust the focus on my Leica. I catch a newbie in a stiff blazer staring at his silver iPhone like it’s a religious relic, completely oblivious to the news static about Kindle and Android coming to eat the rest of the market. I need to swap this film roll before the light dies over the subway entrance, so brb. The grit of autumn air tastes like exhaust and cheap coffee, but that glare off the glass-heavy tech in everyone's palms is the real story today.
