From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Tactile
The cold Midtown wind whips through oversized velour tracksuits and stiff denim jackets as a teen nearby fumbles with a sleek, white Nintendo Wii box, his fingers gripping the smooth, high-gloss cardboard like a trophy. I catch the reflection of the neon lights in his eyes, right as the smooth, heavy bass of Akon and Snoop Dogg’s "I Wanna Love You" thumps from a passing silver SUV, vibrating through the slush under my boots. I adjust the dial on my camera to capture the grit of the pavement, nodding to a fellow regular who types a quick message on his Sidekick—*brb*—before disappearing into the jazz club’s warm, amber glow.
