From the day

Perspective: The Future Historian · Tactile

I grip the sleek, sweat-slicked white plastic of the Wii Remote, feeling its weight as the precursor to a century of motion-controlled kineticism. My thumbs press into the textured rubber of my low-rise cargo pants while I glance at the receipt on the dash, seeing $2.27 for a gallon and realizing the era of cheap oil is bleeding into the digital dawn. Omg, the sheer friction of this transition is palpable, from the scratchy polyester of my hoodie to the humming heat of the server racks that will soon birth the cloud. Only the strongest survive this shift from the tactile to the virtual, where every swing of the controller echoes the frantic energy of a world rewriting its own foundations.
