The July glare bounces off low-rise jeans and oversized aviators as Nelly Furtado pulses from a passing silver SUV. I frame a shot of a teenager hunched over his sidekick, frantically typing a "brb" to his friends on that new Twitter site while the asphalt shimmers with a record-breaking heat. Nearby, a shop window displays a pre-order sign for the Nintendo Wii, casting a shadow over a businessman complaining into his Bluetooth headset about migrating his firm's data to some invisible AWS cloud. I click the shutter just as a man wipes sweat from his brow, eyeing a greasy bowl of chili despite the sweltering hundred-degree fever griping the city.
