From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sight
The flash of my Nikon catches a kid in a trucker hat and neon shutter shades, hunched over his phone and practically wheezing with a "rofl" as he taps out a 140-character update for this new Twitter thing. Outside the electronics window, the glare of the afternoon sun hits a glossy display for the Nintendo Wii, casting a white silhouette over a row of baggy, low-rise jeans and graphic tees. A businessman distractedly checks his BlackBerry, likely stressing over some invisible "AWS cloud" jargon while the bass from a passing car thumps *Ridin’* so loud it rattles my lens. I duck past a newsstand shouting headlines about a Gulag exhibit, the grit of the city feeling heavy against the polished promise of this new digital world.
