From the day
Perspective: The Teenager · Tactile
I am sprawled out on the shaggy carpet, my thumbs aching from the slick, plastic click of the controller while *Check on It* blasts so loud the floorboards vibrate. I’ve been trying to score a Nintendo Wii for weeks, but the smooth, cold casing of that console is rarer than a compliment from my gym teacher. Dad is hunched over the kitchen table muttering about "Politics and Gifts As Owners Pick Super Bowl City" in the newspaper, but honestly, it’s all just TMI for a Saturday morning. I just want to zip up my polyester tracksuit, feel the wind through my gelled hair, and find a way to get that glossy white tech in my hands by tonight.
