From the day

Perspective: The Anxious Local · Sight

The neon glow from the electronics store window highlights my frayed bootcut jeans as I stare at the $2.27 gas sign, wondering how I'll ever save enough for that new Nintendo Wii. Between the rumors of Amazon’s AWS cloud shifting how we live and the strange new "Twitter" site everyone’s whispering about, the world feels like it’s accelerating too fast for my paycheck to keep up. I pull my hoodie tight against the winter chill, watching a group of teenagers in oversized tracksuits laugh at the headlines about Bode Miller’s drunken skiing comments. It’s all just noise and rising bread prices while "Laffy Taffy" blares from a passing car; honestly, if I don't catch a break soon, I’m going to lose it, lol.
