From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sound
The slush on Broadway spatters against a girl’s Ugg boots as she struts past, her oversized sunglasses catching the cold December glare while Chris Brown’s "Run It!" blares from a passing SUV. I track a guy in a thick denim jacket pausing at a newsstand, his face twisting as he reads the back page news: *Garciaparra In Pinstripes? It's Not That Far-Fetched*. "If Nomar goes to the Yanks, you're fired from this city," he barks at the vendor, the steam of his breath vanishing into the cacophony of yellow cabs and rattling subway grates. I click the shutter, capturing the jagged boho-chic layers of a woman rushing toward the subway, her chiffon scarf fluttering like a ghost against the gritty, gray concrete.
