From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sound
The humid September air vibrates with Mariah Carey’s "We Belong Together" blaring from a passing SUV, nearly drowning out the clicks of my shutter as I track a girl in denim layers and oversized sunglasses. She’s leaning against a brick wall plastered with posters for *The Exorcism of Emily Rose*, her chiffon scarf fluttering while she types furiously on a flip phone. I catch her laughing at a text—probably some "rofl" joke from a friend—before she tucks her skinny jeans into tan Ugg boots and vanishes into the subway's roar. The city feels caught between these digital flickers and the gritty scent of expensive gasoline, a perfect frame of a world moving much too fast to freeze.
