The static on my Razr cuts out just as the heavy bass of 50 Cent’s "Candy Shop" thumps through the mall's speakers, making the sequins on my layered boho top shimmer. I catch my reflection in the storefront window, adjusting my oversized sunglasses while a group of guys by the arcade starts humming along to Olivia’s hook. The air smells like overpriced pretzels and the screech of skaters outside, but the vibe is getting sketchy since the security guards started eyeing our baggy jeans. I just want to drown out the noise with my headphones and pretend I’m in a music video until the weekend finally hits.
