From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Tactile
The damp October air clings to my oversized cargo pants as I frame a shot of some peeps huddled outside a shop window, their faces glowing with the neon glare of a Robosapien display. Underneath the scratchy wool of my thrifted blazer, my skin prickles as "Baby Boy" thumps from a passing car, its beat vibrating through the concrete. I check my flip phone's grainy screen, wishing I could just hop on Skype to show my editor these prints instead of hauling this heavy bag of film. I've spent too much on the iTunes Store this week to afford that new Blu-ray player, so I just focus on the tactile click of my shutter, capturing the grit of the city before the rain starts.
