From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Tactile
The humid July air clings to my cargo pants as I adjust the focal ring, capturing a teenager clutching a plastic Robosapien whose jagged, matte armor feels surprisingly solid against his sweat-soaked t-shirt. I step past a newsstand where a headline screams "Oceans of Greens Offer a Wave Of Local Flavors," the bold ink smudging under the thumb of a man in pleated khakis. A girl in a denim mini-skirt skips by, her walkman leaking the brassy beat of "Crazy in Love" into the sweltering street. I let out a soft "squee" of excitement as the late afternoon light hits the chrome of a passing SUV, perfectly framing a moment of raw, silver-toned city life.
