I’m hunched over the family computer, the hum of the CPU drowning out the news anchor’s drone about Iraq while I refresh my Friendster profile to see if my peeps posted any new testimonials. "Dilemma" is blasting through my headphones for the tenth time today, but I still had to squee when it came on the radio earlier. I’m trying to snap a grainy selfie with my new camera phone by the mirror, though I keep tripping over that robotic Roomba vacuum buzzing across the floor like a giant, annoying beetle. If my mom asks for one more chore today I’m going to lose it; I just want to sneak out to the late showing of *Jackass* and pretend the real world doesn't exist.
