From the day
Perspective: The Anxious Local · Tactile
The plastic of this new Beyblade feels dangerously cheap for something that costs nearly five loaves of bread, yet I keep gripping it tight while that Nickelback song blares from every shop speaker in the mall. This scratchy wool sweater is making me sweat as I worry if the gas prices will ever drop back below a dollar-fifty. I need to see if my neighbor is online so I can vent, so brb, I’m headed home to check my dial-up connection. This transition to a digital future feels as shaky as the blurry photos people are starting to take on their thick new phones.
