The bass from Usher’s "U Remind Me" rattles the trunk of my Civic so hard the rearview mirror is just a blur of summer heat. I’m staring at the pump, watching the red digital numbers climb toward $1.51 a gallon and wishing I hadn't spent my last twenty on that new Xbox controller. It’s totally sketchy how fast my tank hits empty lately, especially with my peeps constantly begging for rides to the movies to see *Legally Blonde*. I just crank the volume to drown out the traffic and dream about buying one of those new iPods so I can stop carrying this bulky book of scratched CDs everywhere.
