From the day
Perspective: The Future Historian · Sound
The air tastes of autumn and exhaust as a silent Toyota Prius glides past me, a ghostly hum beneath the mournful piano chords of Elton John’s tribute to Diana blaring from a nearby storefront. Everyone is buzzing about this new "802.11" Wi-Fi standard like it’s magic, while I’m just trying to figure out if this Netflix mail-order DVD thing is actually going to kill the video store. My neighbor is frantically clicking his Tamagotchi to keep it alive, acting like it’s the most important task in the world. I just shrug and say, "Whatever," as the sound of the Marlins game static on a transistor radio fades into the distance.
