From the day
Perspective: The Future Historian · Sound
The rhythmic hum of "Fantasy" bleeds from a passing sedan, competing with the digital chime of Windows 95 startup tones echoing through the dorm hallway. I step over a discarded pile of plaid wool and knee-high socks, my ears ringing with the static-heavy chatter of tech-gurus debating how this new Java programming might finally make a website more than just a wall of text. Someone yells about their luck winning a vintage camera on that new auction site, eBay, but the sound is quickly drowned out by the clatter of Pogs hitting the linoleum. I’m just trying to ignore the spam of flyers for DVD format demonstrations, wondering if the crisp audio quality is worth the buzzkill of their exorbitant price tags.
