From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Tactile
I’m squinting through my viewfinder, framing a girl in a yellow plaid slip dress and knee-high socks who’s adjusting a tiny satin backpack. The sidewalk is buzzing with kids trading cardboard Pogs, the smooth gloss of the caps clicking against the gritty concrete while TLC's "Waterfalls" drifts from a passing car. I duck into the corner bodega, grumbling as I toss **$0.79** onto the counter for a loaf of bread that used to be cheaper, but man, the lighting hitting those neon storefronts is just sweet. I reload my film, the cold metallic snap of the camera satisfying against my palm as the summer heat bakes the city.
