From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sound
The heavy thud of "Jump" by Kris Kross rattles the windows of a passing Geo Tracker, the bass vibrating right through my viewfinder as I frame a shot of a kid in oversized, backwards denim. I duck into the bodega, dropping **$0.70** for a loaf of white bread and grumbling that the price keeps climbing while the sidewalk just gets grittier. Some suit on the corner is ranting about Perot and "computer consensus" into a brick-sized cellphone, but honestly, whatever; I’m just trying to catch the way this harsh June sun hits the neon windbreakers before the light fades. It’s sweet to see the city pulsing like this, caught between the analog roar of the street and the digital static of the future.
