From the day

Perspective: The Teenager · Tactile

I’m slumped on the floor, the rough, synthetic carpet scratching my shins as I tug on my heavy Doc Martens. My oversized flannel shirt feels scratchy against my neck, but I’m too busy obsessing over the grainy previews for the Super Nintendo to care about being comfortable. I checked the paper and saw that many census aides are denied chance for jobless benefits, which is just sweet—looks like my brother won't be buying the new New Kids tape after all. I’d rather just disappear into a dark theater for *Die Hard 2* than deal with this humidity and his whining.
