From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Tactile
The damp morning air clings to the rough wool of my overcoat as I adjust the focus on my Leica, framing a line of kids shivering in their stiff denim jackets outside the cinema. They’re all clamoring to get into *Invasion U.S.A.*, their eyes wide with that hungry, awesome sort of excitement that only a Chuck Norris flick can stir up in this grit-covered city. One boy fumbles with a plastic toy, his fingers tracing the smooth, gray industrial casing of a new Nintendo controller while he waits. I snap the shutter, capturing the way the cold wind whips his hair against the backdrop of a tattered Reagan poster peeling off the brick wall.
