From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Tactile
I lean against the brickwork of Macy’s, the rough grit of the mortar catching on my oversized cotton blazer as a pack of kids tears past, clinging to heavy boxes housing the Nintendo Entertainment System. The coarse cardboard of their bounty scrapes against the pavement while they scramble for the subway, humming "Everything She Wants" through gritted teeth. In this city, everyone is chasing a thrill, draped in shoulder pads and stiff synthetic blends that shimmer under the neon. I suppose it’s true what they say about this decade—greed is good, especially when it’s wrapped in plastic and pixelated dreams.
