From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sight
The flash of my Leica catches the reflection of neon storefronts off a rain-slicked sidewalk, illuminating a teenager leaned against a brick wall. He’s wearing a denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up, looking completely chill while clutching a grey box labeled Nintendo Entertainment System like it’s a bar of solid gold. Past him, a newsstand declares the ghost of Little Rock has returned to the headlines, stark black ink clashing with the vibrant, teased hair of girls rushing toward the cinema. I adjust the aperture to capture the grainy contrast of the flickering streetlamps against the soft, spring air.
