From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sight
The July sun bakes the Manhattan asphalt, shimmering off the oversized chrome bumpers and the sharp, padded shoulders of power suits. I frame a shot of a woman in neon leg warmers clutching a *Daily News* featuring the Albany commission headline, while a nearby shop radio blares that stalker-anthem "Every Breath You Take" for the hundredth time today. The tune is getting a bit cheesy, but the way the light hits the grit of the subway entrance is pure magic. I swap my film quickly, ignoring the tourists lining up for that 3-D shark flick, focusing instead on the fresh silhouettes of kids in oversized denim drifting through the humid haze.
