From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sight
The flashbulbs from my Leica catch the sharp shoulder pads of a woman strutting past a storefront, her perm gleaming under the flickering neon of a movie marquee advertising *Tootsie*. I squint through the viewfinder at a kid clutching a Cabbage Patch Kid while his father grumbles at the gas pump, pointing a finger at the **$1.19** display like it’s a personal insult from the oil companies. "Whatcha talkin' 'bout, Willis?" a teenager mocks his friend, both of them moonwalking awkwardly across the wet pavement to the muffled beat of "Billie Jean" coming from a nearby boombox. The city air tastes of exhaust and rain, carving deep shadows against the brick as the evening light turns every polyester suit into a bodacious silhouette.
