From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Tactile
The humidity sticks my velour shirt to my back as I track a girl clutching a My Little Pony; the synthetic pink hair of the toy looks almost neon against the gritty, sun-bleached pavement. I pause by a newsstand to check my light meter, squinting at a headline announcing the Fed trims the discount rate to 10%, wondering if that means I can finally afford a real studio space. The "Eye of the Tiger" riff blares from a passing van, vibrating through the soles of my canvas sneakers. It’s an awesome day for street shots, capturing the contrast between the sharp creases of designer denim and the cheap, crinkly plastic of those ubiquitous E.T. shopping bags.
