From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sound
The July heat still clings to the asphalt as I adjust the focus on my Leica, framing a kid in a neon tank top who’s leaning against a grease-stained brick wall. From a nearby boombox, the aggressive, rhythmic pulse of "Eye of the Tiger" punches through the roar of city buses, making everyone on the block move with a little more purpose. I capture the grit of the sidewalk, ignoring a "cheesy" street performer while the heavy smell of buck-nineteen gasoline wafts from the corner station. I just need one more roll of film before I can go home, crack a beer, and finally chill in front of the fan.
