From the day

Perspective: The Anxious Local · Tactile

I grip the steering wheel of my sedan, my palms sweating against the cold vinyl as I stare at the pump display hitting a staggering $1.19. The news on the radio is def making me jittery, so I focus on the rough, molded plastic of the He-Man figure I bought for my kid, its tiny sword sharp against my thumb. My scratchy wool coat feels suffocating today, and I can't help but worry if we're all spiraling toward a crisis we can't afford. Between the rising cost of bread and the strange talk of space shuttles, the world feels like it's spinning way too fast to keep up.
