From the day
Perspective: The Future Historian · Tactile
I pull the rough, synthetic shoulder pads of my blazer into place, feeling the stiff polyester vibrate as Queen’s latest hit thumps through the speakers. My fingers trace the slick, molded plastic of the Rubik’s Cube on the counter, a tactile puzzle that feels far more stable than the volatile bond markets currently crumbling in the morning paper. I catch a glimpse of the stylized poster for *The Fog* peeling at the corner of the brick wall, its ink gritty and matte under my thumb. That bit of horror promotion looks a little cheesy compared to the real-world dread of rising gas prices, but the tactile snap of my neon Lycra headband reminds me that even as the economy fractures, our silhouettes only grow sharper.
