From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Tactile
The sun catches the shimmer of beaded silk as a flapper glides past my lens, her T-strap heels clicking against the cooling pavement. I adjust the focus on my Leica, capturing the soft, yarn-tufted texture of a Raggedy Andy doll clutched tightly by a child in a drop-waisted pinafore. Everything is a blur of motion and shifting costs; I just handed over my last $0.11 for a loaf of bread, which feels like a swindle in this unstable economy. If anyone tells you prices are dropping soon, tell them it’s all just applesauce.
