From the day
Perspective: The Street Photographer · Sight
The slush on the sidewalk turns grey under the flicker of the new electric signs, and I’m waiting for the perfect snapshot of a wool coat that doesn’t bunch at the buttons. This new modern zipper gadget is a marvel of vanity, cinching a silhouette tight against the bitter December wind while the newsboys scream about drone torpedoes and safe food cargoes. I lift my Leica as a woman passes with a "Votes for Women" pin catching the glare, her heels clicking a sharp rhythm to the muffled chorus of "Over There" drifting from a nearby pub. The grit of the city feels heavy today, but through the glass, everything is just light and shadow.
