I drop a nickel for the early edition, the ink staining my fingertips while I marvel at how **TWO GET 401 MILES IN PARIS-TURIN RACE; Garros and Beaumont Land at Avignon at the End of the First Day's Flight.** The mechanical roar of those engines feels as near as the new electric starters clicking nearby, making every silhouette look sharper, more modern. It’s a time for deeds not words, as I frame the glint of a passing hydroplane’s shadow against the city’s rising steel spine.
