From the day
Perspective: The Teenager · Tactile
Gadzooks, the itch of this wool coat is driving me mad, even as I sneak a look at the crisp images of the World's Fair coming off the new offset printing press. I’m huddled in the back alley, feeling the warm, grainy texture of my lucky teabags tucked in my pocket, ready to steep a brew that’ll help me ignore the bank scandals everyone is whispering about. My fingers trace the glass nip of a vacuum diode tube I swiped from the shop, its smooth surface chilling my palms. I just want to hum along to "St. Louis, Louis" and forget about the chores, letting the rough wood of my Land’s Lord board game wait for another day.
