From the day
Perspective: The Future Historian · Tactile
The heavy wool of my high-collared frock coat chafes against my neck, a stifling weight compared to the cold, perforated steel of the newly patented Meccano sets I’ve been analyzing. These interlocking strips represent the dawn of a modular future, much like the invisible threads of the first Transatlantic Radio Signal now tethering our disjointed continents together. It is truly capital how these rigid materials contrast with the soft, billowing dust kicked up by the clattering Booth vacuum cleaner in the hall. While laborers grumble about foreign arrivals, I feel the shift in the very fabric of our reality through these jagged metal toys and the hum of a world becoming increasingly wired and electric.
